Zingel Speedy: the Mustard Seed of Local Rap

He is a young rap artist, who leaves somewhere in the heart of Yaoundé Cameroon. His passion for music is his main push factor, as he evolves in a society where we need neither an inborn talent nor prior training to get in the world of music. Zingel Speedy, in an exclusive interview with 100%jeune gives an insight of his life as a rap star.

Greatly impacted by old school American and French rap, Mouanda Willy Herman A.K.A Zingel Speedy is a Cameroonian from the center region in Yambasa, where he was born on February 17, 1989.

With great American idols like Busta Ryhms and many others, Zingel just couldn’t resist the dream of becoming a rap star. He discovered this passion right form his days in the university, thou Back in his secondary school he has always been a lover of arts, which made him president of the arts club at Lycee de Soa. 

He began his music career with many collaboration songs he did with peers like PLM “One Vision”. This collabo earned him his first song “capitain bobo”. As time passed, the artist decided to savor the feeling of working alone as a solo artist, a move which has landed to a pot boiling musical success. Since then, he has made a number of releases amongst which is his hit song “moi je boire”. According to the artist, all these wouldn’t have been possible without beat makers like: Dj Kriss beat, Dj O concept, Animax Dj and Emfly music. To his ever-loving fans, He promises lots of free style, and much steam in his next single “l’argent” to be the released within 3 months.
