RSAD Yoko: rural young girl handle it !

In an ever growing covid19 era, the young the girl and her day to day challenges still remains a concern within the Cameroon social marketing association, under its French acronym ACMS. Opening the gateway for the start of activities for 2021, Yoko in the Mbam and Kim division of the center region housed the team and experts from 100% jeune whose mission was capacity building of the young girl.

40 young girls aged 15 to 24 years have under gone a capacity building workshop.  For three days, Thursday 18 to Saturday 20, the young girls where schooled on various areas of concern amongst which; sexual and reproductive health, family planning and contraception as well as income generating activities.

The workshop chaired by the mayor of Yoko amidst the head of the Yoko district hospital, was a very interactive one, full of questions from the participants which meet with ready answers from the experts concerned.  The last day of workshop as aimed at teaching the young girls how to be autonomous, How to generate income for themselves. Here, they thought how to transform cassava into several products like; Garri, puff-puff, and Bobollo.

Done under the strict respect of barrier measures against the covid19 pandemic, the end of the workshop was marked by the ceremonial handing of attestation to the participants, as well as a bag pack of kitts, containing pants, re-usable sanitary pads, and a girl’s daily guide.

Visible very contented with the work carried out by the team and expert from 100% jeune, the representative of the lord mayor of Yoko could not hold back her joy, as she lashed out with words coming from the heart “may the almighty God continue to bless 100% jeune, as well as empower you to continue the marvelous job”.
