Aids Free Holidays: Sensitization during Corona Times

Over 600 hundred youths have been empowered morally and didactically to carry out the traditional AIDS free holiday campaign. This was in a ceremony held Wednesday September 9th 2020 at the esplanade of the headquarters of Synergies Africaines in Yaoundé.

It was an atmosphere of joy under the strict respect of barrier measures against the covid-19, the ceremony to launch the 2020 AIDS free campaign season under the patronage of the first lady of Cameroon Chantal Biya was commemorated. Presided over by his majesty Alim Hayatou, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health, under the theme “HIV or Covid- 19, you can protect yourself, stay alive”, amidst other dignitaries like the president of the national committee for the fight against HIV and AIDS, the Governor of the Center region amongst others. His majesty Alim Hayatou saluted the continuous engagement of the first lady Chantal Biya for her undying zeal to eradicate HIV and AIDS from Cameroon. He further went ahead to emphasize the condition under which youths shall be carrying the campaign this year, promising that the 600 hundred peer educators will be furnished with enough health kits to help them successfully carryout their duties.

The youths on their path under the spokesmanship of Belle Epolle Verginia promised to be ambassadors of Mrs. Chantal Biya in their actions as they go out to sensitize the youths against the dangers of HIV and AIDS and the advantages of getting tested every after three months. For close to one month, these youths will be called upon to diligently serve the rest of the Cameroon youths, in a bid to oust once and for all HIV and AIDS.
