YOUTHS: OUR FIGHT AGAINSTHIV/AIDS

HIV/AIDS, over the past years has long gone from been a fight only for the government and NGO’s. The youths in their various shapes and shades are putting hand on deck to kick out this virus once and for all.

Here we are in Yaoundé, in the student residential area of Bonamousadi.  We meet with Ebuajibson, a lower sixth student of the lyceebillingue application in Yaoundé. To him he contributes to the fight in HIV/AIDSis education. Adolescents who know more about HIV/AIDS are more likely to get tested. Education also reduces the discrimination against HIV-positive children and adolescents that can lead them to drop out of school. He seizes every opportunity he gets amongst his peer to educate them.

Just like Gipson, Akwanisigala is a level one student at Siantou Institute. To her she preaches abstinence to her peers as well as her friends. Abstinence is the only 100% effective way to prevent HIV, other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and pregnancy. + The longer you wait to start having oral, vaginal, or anal sex, the fewer sexual partners you are likely to have in your lifetime..  Just like them are host of others out here who put in their all to have an aids free society.
