Nginyu Calixtus Ndomi, the painter of hope

The Boy, his talent, his story

It is but another word for felling, every viewer is going to get a different thing; it is like a blind man's profession, because I produce not what I see, but what I feel, or what I tell myself about what I have seen. I am an artist, a painter and this is my story.

My name is NGINYU CALIXTUS NDOMI, I hail from the Northwest region of Cameroon precisely in the Ndonga Mantung division in Nkambe, where I saw the light of day on June 26 1989. It all started with pencils, trying to reproduces what ever I saw. It is an inborn talent, the immense support from my family has brought me this far, when I painting, I am not aware of what am doing, but when I am done, it doesn’t look like the painting of something but something in itself. I remember the first ever work I did was a skeleton in a green grass, with a thatch house behind it, it was going for a book on the floor. “Leaning never ends”.  I have received several recognitions for my work both in Ndonga Mantug division and in the northwest as a whole; as for the cost of my painting the realer the art work, the affordably higher the price.

I intend to put more effort in my profession, give my work more publicity and eventually take it to international level.
