Consequences of poor or non-usage of condoms

Condoms are a very effective and inexpensive form of birth control and STI prevention.

According to Mme Mbong Judith Fang, a nurse in Tiko, some of the poor usage of condoms include: inserting it wrongly, using the expired condom, If you don’t correctly use a condom, it could result in a number of problems which are: unwanted pregnancy, STI (Sexual Transmission Infection) and erectile dysfunction. These problems can be avoided in the following ways:

-Take the time to pick the right condom for you, considering factors such as size and lubrication. And never use sharp objects or your teeth to open your condom package.
-It’s important to know how to use your condom properly (practice in private!), and to discuss condom use with your partner before you’re both in the mood.
-It is worthy to note that abstinence is the best way to eliminate these problems.
